The second list includes some people whose names were suggested when we were working on the outline proposal, but whom we have not contacted, and some people who are submitting papers to the MSCS special issue on behavioural types. Maybe it would be good to start trying to move people from the second list to the first list. Industrial partners should also be included - I have made a separate list above. We have 11 countries, I think, and we have people from universities (mainly) and some research labs. If we are trying to show that ideas from behavioural typing can be applied to large-scale distributed software systems, then maybe as well as finding industrial partners, we should try to include researchers from more practical areas. Does anyone have any suggestions? **Thomas:** I have suggested [[http://www.zurich.ibm.com/~hvo/ | Hagen Völzer]] at IBM Research - Zurich to join. (I hope you will join Hagen :-) **Marco Aldinucci (University of Torino):** I have suggested Emilio Tuosto (Leicester, UK) - I've discussed this candidature with Mariangiola Dezani. **kohei:** I think we have a very good list. I did not know this is getting such a big list: I felt this will have just at most dozen participants, and it is great we are having so many interested. Emilio will surely be great to have here. About Simon's point --- having research people from practice --- a potential is to include *users* who may use such systems. We have oceanographers and systems people in UCSD (well, US, it is true, but I can ask them to introduce some in Europe) working with us. Simon, do you think this category is also good to have? Another of "practical areas" may be systems researchers, but they tend to be satisfied with existing languages, adding some machinery on top of it (DSLs etc.). I am sure some will be interested to participate in workshops but I do not know how actively they can continue to be part of the members. But certainly, systems research intersects fundamentally with this area. **Simon:** I think we can list potential participants who are not from COST countries. This would include USA. The rule is that non-COST participants would not be able to claim expenses from the COST funding, but they could attend meetings at their own expense. If you think we can honestly say that your people in UCSD have "expressed interest" then we can list them. **Kohei:** Great, I can ask this. Belatedly I am also asking corporate partners (Thomas already put them). However I wonder what are their obligations. I will try to get this point from the COST spec doc.
